Æsop's Fables
from Castell Coch continued |
 |
Beth has recently added two new needlepoint designs to
her range of kits taken from the beautiful paintings at
Castell Coch the 'medieval'
fantasy castle in South Wales.

A detail from the Aesop's fables mural which encircles
the Drawing Room makes this very pretty little cushion.
Toning fabric has been added either side and the cord is
made from Appleton wools using some of the colours in the
design.

Castell Coch
Built in the late 1870s by the architect William Burges
as a weekend retreat for the immensely rich Lord Bute,
Castell Coch
(Red Castle) has the dramatic appearance of a
13th century castle, with a drawbridge, portcullis
and turrets.
The interior decoration throughout the castle is a
riot of colourful eccentricity, fabulous workmanship
and Victorian fantasy.
